π Two weeks left to submit a talk proposal to PyCon US 2025 in Pittsburgh
Call for proposals closes on December 19
You may have heard that PyCon US, the largest and longest-running annual gathering for the community using and developing the Python programming language, is returning to Pittsburgh for a second year in 2025.
PyCon US 2024 in Pittsburgh was excellent β but if I have one regret about it, itβs that when the biggest Python conference in the world was in Pittsburgh, very few people and organizations from Pittsburgh were featured on stage. We should change that in 2025.
PyCon US 2025 is now accepting proposals for talks, Charlas (Spanish-language talks), tutorials, and posters. The deadline to submit a proposal is Thursday, December 19 β two weeks from today. Please check out the PyCon US proposal guidelines and consider submitting a proposal in one or more of these categories!
I know there are lots of brilliant, talented people doing fascinating and cutting-edge work with Python right here in Pittsburgh. I would love to showcase what the Pittsburgh technology community is capable of in front of the national and international audience PyCon US provides!
Oh, and if you do submit a proposal to PyCon US 2025 β consider submitting it to the PyData Pittsburgh Call for Proposals, too! If your proposal is accepted for PyCon, we could provide an opportunity for you to road-test and refine your material in front of a friendly audience before the main conference. Even if your proposal isnβt accepted for PyCon, it could still be a great fit for a future PyData Pittsburgh event.
Do you think if I asked them to DJ a 1-hour set of chill house music instead of a talk they would be into it?
