Join us next week for PyData Pittsburgh's June event
Because maybe the Friday before Memorial Day weekend is not the optimal time to send an event announcement
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at our June event on the evening of Tuesday, June 11, featuring the talk Radically improving neural networks with insights from modern neuroscience from Dr. Rorry Brenner.
We’ll be gathering in person at the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. Food and beverages will be provided.
For more information about Rorry’s talk and to RSVP, please visit the event page on Meetup.com:
We have 51 RSVPs so far. I’d love to hit 75!
Want to come up to speed on neural networks?
Rorry’s talk will be about the inner workings of neural networks and how to improve them. Want a concise, intuitive introduction to the current generation of neural networks and how they work? Or has it been a while, and it would be helpful to refresh your memory?
The Neural Networks series from 3Blue1Brown is one of my favorite resources on the topic:
The first five videos — focused on the structure of neural networks and the backpropagation algorithm — will be the most relevant to next week’s event. (The last two videos provide an excellent introduction to the transformer architecture and the attention mechanism, but that’s a topic for another day.)
Help us spread the word!
Know any friends or colleagues who might be interested in Radically improving neural networks with insights from modern neuroscience or our other events? Tell them about PyData Pittsburgh! Word of mouth is by far the most effective way new folks discover our community.
