Announcing PyData Virginia 2025

A new data science, AI, and machine learning conference comes to the Mid-Atlantic

PyData Virginia 2025, a new data science, AI, and machine learning conference, will take place on April 18-19 in Charlottesville, Virginia! The conference will be a two-day, in-person event for the international community of data scientists, data engineers, and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other. PyData Virginia is now the closest major PyData event to Pittsburgh — even a bit closer than PyData NYC.

Call for Proposals

The Call for Proposals is currently open, and closes in just under two weeks — the submission deadline is Monday, February 10. The conference is seeking proposals for both standard 30-minute conference talks and 90-minute, interactive, hands-on tutorials. They encourage submissions from first-time speakers and welcome talks with multiple presenters — collaboration is always a plus! Speakers will receive a free pass for both days of the conference. All selected talks and tutorials will be recorded and published on the PyData YouTube channel, bringing your work to over 100,000 subscribers around the world.

Even if you’re not ready to present a talk yourself, please consider sharing the CFP with interested folks in any organizations or communities you're involved with!

Please note that the talks day and the tutorials day are ticketed separately. To attend both days, you'll need to purchase both a Talks Pass and a Tutorials Pass. If you are interested in attending just one of the days, you may buy either a Talks Pass or a Tutorials Pass individually.

If your employer might pay for you to attend PyData Virginia 2025, please explore that option first and register at the Corporate rate. Ticket sales at the Corporate rate help keep the conference financially viable and keep tickets affordable for students and those needing financial aid.
